NBA roundup: Timberwolves' Love sidelined with broken hand

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, a two-time All-Star, has broken a bone in his shooting hand for the second time this season and will be out for several weeks, multiple media outlets reported.

An MRI on Saturday afternoon revealed the fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his right hand. Love is scheduled to see Dr. Andy Weiland in New York this week to determine how long he will be sidelined and whether surgery is necessary, according to reports by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Surgery was not needed when Love broke the third and fourth metacarpal bones in the same hand in October. He missed five weeks as a result of that injury.

Love left Thursday's game at Denver in the third quarter after hitting his hand. At the time, the team said it was a sprained finger after X-rays then showed no fracture.

Love is averaging 18.3 points and 14.0 rebounds in the 18 games he's played this season.

--Houston suspended forward Royce White Sunday, one week after the Rockets rookie refused his assignment to the NBA Developmental League.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey had been in talks with White throughout the week, according to the Houston Chronicle, but was unable to reach an agreement in which White would report to his assignment with Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

White, the 16th overall pick in last year's draft, has been on the team's inactive list -- he suffers from an anxiety disorder.

---Washington Wizards guard John Wall has been practicing with the team and is expected to make his season debut within the next two weeks, according SI.com's Chris Mnnix.

Wall has not played yet this season because of a stress reaction in his left knee.

---The Miami Heat announced they waived guard Terrel Harris.

Harris averaged 1.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in seven games this season. He signed with the Heat as a free agent in December 2011.

---The Cleveland Cavaliers announced they waived forward Samardo Samuels.

Samuels averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 18 games.
