NBA owners tabled a plan to place small advertisements on jerseys during Thursday's Board of Governors meeting, multiple sources reported.
The league had decided to pursue the jersey ads during the summer meetings. They chose to go with a small patch rather than a large advertisement as seen on WNBA and European soccer jerseys.
CBS Sports reported the issue is expected to be discussed again at the April meetings.
Revenue of up to $100 million is expected when the league allows advertising on uniforms. The league projection could be adjusted as individual teams and manufacturers to sort through all the variables in play in the major change. Replica uniforms would also include the advertising patches.
