Nuggets re-sign JaVale McGee

The Denver Nuggets have re-signed free-agent center JaVale McGee. The four-year contract is worth $44 million, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

McGee averaged 11.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 61 games with the Nuggets and Washington Wizards last season. After failing to live up to his potential in Washington, McGee had two impressive double-double games for the Nuggets against the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs. The Nuggets have been active in free agency by re-signing McGee and point guard Andre Miller, signing free agent forward Anthony Randolph and using their amnesty clause to waive center Chris Andersen.

“JaVale did a tremendous job for us after the trade,” Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri said. “He worked hard on the court and did everything our coaches asked of him. Plus, he’s only 24 years old. With our coaching staff, he’s only going to get better.”
