Alvin Gentry to meet second time with Grizzles about coaching job

Alvin Gentry will meet with Memphis Grizzlies officials to discuss their head-coaching opening for the second time on Thursday in Memphis, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Gentry first interviewed for the Grizzlies' opening on Friday in Washington, D.C. Gentry coached the Suns to a 158-144 record from 2008-13 before being fired Jan. 18. He has also previously coached the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers.

The Grizzlies have also interviewed former Denver Nuggets coach George Karl and Chicago Bulls assistant coach Ed Pinckney. Grizzlies assistant coach Dave Joerger is expected to formally interview by week's end.

Former Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins is interviewing for the Nuggets' head-coaching job on Wednesday.
