7: Of the last 13 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the number that have been won from starting positions outside the top 10. That would seem to defy the conventional wisdom that New Hampshire is a difficult place to pass and that a driver's starting spot consequently is of paramount importance. Drivers starting 20th or worse have won four of the last 13 races, dating to 2007. Denny Hamlin's victory from 32nd on the grid in last year's Chase race is the starting position deepest in the field for a race winner during that period.
