Montana OT Poole arrested on felony drug charge

University of Montana starting offensive tackle Trevor Poole was arrested on a felony drug charge Sunday morning, the Missoulian reported Monday.

Poole, 20, was held in the Missoula County jail on a suggested $50,000 bond.

The redshirt sophomore faces a felony charge of controlled possession of dangerous drugs. He was booked into the jail about 4:15 a.m.

Athletic director Kent Haslam said Poole's arrest "calls for immediate, indefinite dismissal."

Poole's arrest falls under the school's Category 1 violation of the Student Athlete Code of Conduct for someone charged with a felony when it is reasonable to believe the person committed the crime.

Poole was arrested at a party with many people in attendance.

Police responded to four calls between 11:50 p.m. Saturday and 2:18 a.m. Sunday, concerning narcotics in the area of the Disco Bloodbath III dance party outside of Missoula, according to the police blotter. Others had been arrested in the area for taking Ecstacy.

Poole was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
