Following the viral video that showed the ‘MMA gas station guy’ pummelling assailants who were attempting an armed robbery, Mayura Dissanayake stepped back inside the ring and earned a quick stoppage of his own.

Nothing like foiling an armed robbery to get the competitive juices flowing again.

On July 10, 2014, Mayura Dissanayake, a gas station attendant in Houston, Texas, managed to thwart an attempted armed robbery by coming to the aid of his coworker. He then proceeded to pummel the assailants repeatedly with punches and kicks.

Camera footage of the incident went viral soon afterwards and turned Dissanayake into a local hero/celebrity. It also convinced the gas station attendant to return to MMA once more.

According to MMAJunkie.com, Dissanayake made his return in amateur competition last Saturday night at the Savarese Promotion's hybrid MMA and Muay Thai card, where he picked up an 18-second KO over his opponent Jaime Garcia (viewed above).
