Tuesday was moving day around Major League Baseball with many clubs making cuts, releases and demotions.
--Detroit Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos was among the players sent to minor-league camp.
Castellanos, 21, is viewed as the Tigers' top prospect. He will patrol the outfield in the minors, shifting from third base, where reigning American League Most Valuable Player Miguel Cabrera is locked down for the major-league team. Castellanos batted .360 this spring with one home run in 31 plate appearances.
Outfielder Tyler Collins, infielders Argenis Diaz and Hernan Perez, catcher Bryan Holaday, righties Trevor Bell and Jose Ortega and lefty Duane Below were also sent to minor-league camp.

--Texas Rangers infielder Mike Olt was among the 12 players cut by the team.
Olt, who struggled in his major-league debut last season, batted .194 (6-for-31) this spring.
Outfielder Engel Beltre, lefty Jeff Beliveau and righty Wilmer Font were sent to Triple-A Round Rock, while righties Colin Balester, Evan Meek and Yoshinori Tateyama, lefty Neal Cotts, catchers Juan Apodaca and Jose Felix, and infielder Brandon Snyder and Brandon Allen were sent to the minor-league camp.

--Veteran Ronny Cedeno was released by the St. Louis Cardinals. He signed a $1.15 million contract over the winter, and had been competing for a bench spot after batting .259 in 166 at-bats with the New York Mets in 2012.

--The Philadelphia Phillies reassigned pitcher Rodrigo Lopez to minor-league camp. The right-hander allowed eight runs -- seven earned -- on 14 hits and three walks in nine innings this spring. He will likely pitch for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

--The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned infielder Justin Sellers and right-handed pitcher Shawn Tolleson to Triple-A Albuquerque, and re-assigned catcher Jesus Flores to minor-league camp.
With Flores gone, Tim Federowicz will likely serve as A.J. Ellis's backup.

--The Chicago White Sox optioned infielder Brent Morel and right-handed pitcher Deunte Heath to Triple-A Charlotte, and reassigned infielder Carlos Sanchez, lefty Daniel Moskos and righty Zach Stewart to minor-league camp.
