Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez has a broken left rib but was expected to play in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series Monday night.
Manager Don Mattingly said a CT scan revealed Ramirez has a hairline fracture of his ribcage. Ramirez was working with the team's training staff to try to get loose enough to swing a bat.
Ramirez was injured during Game 1 of the series Friday.
Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier also was expected to play Monday. He has been bothered by shin splints and the team planned to evaluate him during batting practice.
St. Louis leads the best-of-seven series 2-0.

--- Oakland A's outfielder Josh Reddick and A's pitcher Sonny Gray are expected to undergo surgery to repair injuries, multiple media outlets reported.
Reddick was limited to 114 games because of a troublesome right wrist injury and hit just .226 with 12 homers this season. He is expected to undergo arthroscopic surgery on that wrist.
Gray, will have surgery to repair the torn thumb ligament in his non-pitching hand. He went 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA during the regular season and was 1-1 in the postseason.

---The Atlanta Braves hired Doug Dascenzo as third-base coach.
General manager Frank Wren said that Dascenzo will coach outfielders and baserunning. He was the club's minor league roving outfield and baserunning instructor this season.
