Mike Scott scores 30 as Hawks defeat Knicks

Mike Scott came off the bench and scored 30 points and recorded 8 rebounds, while Jeff Teague added 28 points and 6 assists to help the Atlanta Hawks beat the New York Knicks, 107-98. The Hawks took quality shots, finishing 32-74 (43.2%) from the field, including 16-31 (51.6%) from beyond the arc. This is only the second win for Atlanta (26-29) in its last 10 games.

Scott shot 11-14 from the field (6-7 on 3-point attempts) in a good performance. Other key performers for Atlanta were DeMarre Carroll with 24 points and 6 rebounds, and Lou Williams with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony had another quality performance for New York despite the loss, scoring 35 points on 13-25 shooting (4-8 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-6 from the free throw line. Tyson Chandler chipped in 10 points and 23 rebounds.

This drops New York (21-35) to 2-2 versus Atlanta on the season.

Coming up, the Hawks battle the Chicago Bulls, who are 29-25 on the season. The Knicks match up with the Dallas Mavericks, currently sitting at 34-23 this year. The Hawks came up short against Chicago each of the last two times they've met. The Knicks are 1-0 versus Dallas this season.
