Michigan Football: U-M Non-Conference Schedule Is Toughest

John Borton, Senior Editor

Michigan features the most rigorous non-conference schedule in the Big Ten in 2017, according to Athlon Sports.

The Wolverines open with Florida in Arlington, Texas, kicking off the slate on Sept. 2. There are no completely soft touches that follow, at least in theory.

According to Athlon: "No team in the Big Ten has as attractive a non-conference schedule as the Wolverines this season. Jim Harbaugh is taking his team down to Arlington for a season-opening contest against Florida in Jerry Jones’ football palace. After that, Michigan plays at home against Cincinnati and Air Force. While neither of those two should be considered too challenging, neither should be considered too easy either."

The rest of the top five, in terms of non-conference schedule difficulty, involves Ohio State (which hosts Oklahoma), Nebraska, Michigan State (which hosts Notre Dame) and Purdue.

Here's a look at the entire Big Ten.
