Michael Vick, Nick Foles both have their moments

Judging by how Michael Vick and Nick Foles are performing nowadays, the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback competition is tightly locked.

Both had strong moments during a 14-9 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers.

."They're doing a great job of making it difficult because they're both playing at a high level," Eagles coach Chip Kelly said. "We're going to make a decision. One of them could sprain an ankle walking in the parking lot."

Vick played well and was encouraged by his performance, which included completing nine consecutive passes before an interception on a heave at the end of the first half. He finished 9 of 10 for 105 yards and rushed for 20 yards.

"I feel in rhythm all the time," Vick said. "The flow in the way we prepare makes me feel I can do it all. I feel like the team can go places."

Foles completed 6 of 8 passes for 53 yards, rushing for one touchdown. He also had an interception.

Through two games, Vick is 13 for 15 for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception for a 113.1 passer rating. Foles is 11 for 14 for 96 yards, no touchdowns, one interception and a 65.7 passer rating.

"All I can do is correct what I did wrong and improve," Foles said. "Mike is a great quarterback and it makes me a better quarterback going against him. Mike and I have a great relationship. I'm happy to see him do well."
