Update: Annett was treated and released from the Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach on Sunday. He was transported to the hospital after complaining of pain in his chest and sternum during an accident in Saturday's Nationwide Series race at the Daytona International Speedway, Richard Petty Motorsports PR reports.
Recommendation: Annett was the story that got lost after the wild wreck in Saturday's Nationwide Series race injured 28 spectators at the track. The driver of the No. 43 Ford was injured in an earlier wreck that day and was transported to the nearby Halifax hospital for treatment. He will be evaluated at home later this week, but Annett is expected to race in this weekend's event at Phoenix.
