Charles Clay had a big day receiving, leading the way to a victory for the Dolphins against the Chargers, 20-16, at home.
Ryan Tannehill finished with 268 yards on 22 for 35 passing, one touchdown and one pick. Philip Rivers went 22 of 34 with 298 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick for the Chargers.
Daniel Thomas rushed for 57 yards on 10 carries with a touchdown. Clay was a highlight, pulling in six balls for 90 yards with a touchdown.
The Miami defense gave up 154 yards rushing and 298 passing. They got to Rivers for three sacks.
Chargers running back Ryan Mathews had a productive game with 127 yards rushing and 16 receiving. Tight end Antonio Gates had a good game as well with 52 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Dolphins host the Panthers (6-3) next week while the Chargers head to Kansas City to face the Chiefs (9-1).
