New Mexico junior guard Tony Snell will forgo his senior season of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft, the school announced Monday.
Snell was scheduled to have a press conference Monday at the school with new coach Craig Neal. Neal was recently hired to replace Steve Alford, who left to take the UCLA job.
Snell, a 6-7, 200-pound junior, averaged 12.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game to lead the Lobos to a 13-3 Mountain West Conference record and a No. 3 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament. New Mexico was upset by 14th-seeded Harvard in its opening game.
The announcement did not indicate if Snell hired an agent. He is projected as a second round pick by several draft sites.
