New Mexico State player suffers spinal cord injury

New Mexico State cornerback Miles Washington suffered a spinal cord injury during a spring practice this past Saturday, the school announced.
Emergency surgery was performed to stabilize the injury to Washington, a redshirt freshman.
According to the school's release, "Miles is resting in the intensive care unit and will remain there for the near future. The next 48 hours will be critical but at this time no further information on his condition is available."
