NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- Gavin McCarney rushed for four touchdowns and passed for two as Colgate defeated Yale 47-24 Saturday after scoring three consecutive second-quarter touchdowns.
Jordan McCord carried 24 times for 138 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders (2-3), his fifth straight game over 100 yards rushing.
The Bulldogs (1-2) led 17-14 early in the second quarter before Colgate's three straight scores. McCarney, who found Chris Looney for a 79-yard first-quarter touchdown, finished the first drive with a 13-yard run. He hit CJ Stempeck from 31 yards for Colgate's second score of the quarter and ran the third in from 8 yards.
Yale drove from its 35 to the Colgate 18 in the final minute of the half, but Austin Dier's interception ended the threat.
The Raiders put the game away with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. Josh Ford's 27-yard interception return to the Yale 19 set up the first, a 14-yard McCarney run.
