Godzilla is returning to New York for one more day this summer.
Former Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui will officially announce his retirement and be honored by the Yankees during a July 28 ceremony.
The 38-year-old batted .282 with 175 home runs and 760 RBIs in 1,236 big-league games with the Yankees, Oakland A's, Los Angeles Angels and Tampa Bay Rays.
In his final game as a Yankee, Matsui went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBI in the Yankees' World Series-clinching Game 6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, on Nov. 4, 2009. He batted .615 overall in the series and was named Series MVP.
