Marseille (AFP) - Ligue 1 club Marseille announced on Thursday that they are to take disciplinary action against Morgan Amalfitano after an incident between the midfielder and coach Marcelo Bielsa.

OM said on their website that they will "summon the player as soon as possible to inform him of his punishment."

Amalfitano was told to train away from the first-team squad on Thursday but insisted on joining in and Bielsa chose to abandon the session as the player refused to walk away.

The 29-year-old was left out of the Marseille squad for last week's season-opening draw at SC Bastia and has been linked with a return to the English Premier League, where he impressed last season while on loan at West Bromwich Albion.
