The Seattle Mariners declined their 2014 contract options on outfielder Franklin Gutierrez and Joe Saunders.
Gutierrez, who was to make $7.5 million next year, has seen decreased playing time the past few years. The 30-year-old appeared in 41 games this past season and batted .248 with 10 home runs and 24 RBIs.
Saunders' contract had a mutual option for 2014. He had signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Mariners as a free agent before the 2013 season.
The 32-year-old started 32 games for the Mariners this year, posting an 11-16 record with a 5.26 ERA in 183 innings.
