Marc Gasol earned his fifth double-double this season, scoring 18 points and registering 10 rebounds, to help the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Chicago Bulls, 85-77. This is the seventh win for Memphis (35-26) in its last 10 games.
Gasol went 8-16 from the field. Memphis also got solid performances from Mike Miller with 14 points and 5 rebounds, Mike Conley with 12 points and 7 assists, and Kosta Koufos with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Taj Gibson put up 18 points off the bench for Chicago on 9-16 shooting.
In addition to 15.4% from 3-point range, the Bulls tallied an eFG% of just 42.7%. They are 3-12 on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Grizzlies, conversely, are undefeated (8-0) when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
This drops Chicago (34-28) to 1-1 against Memphis on the year.
