TCU defensive end Stansly Maponga announced Monday night on Twitter that he has decided to enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
"Thanks for 3 great years at TCU! I'll always have y'all in my heart," Maponga tweeted.
Maponda was hampered by injuries during his junior season in 2012 but was named first-team All-Big 12. In 2011, he led TCU in tackles for loss (13.5), sacks (9), forced fumbles (5) and fumble recoveries (2).
While perhaps too short to remain at defensive end for some clubs at the next level, Maponga has shown natural pass rush skills, according to NFLDraftScout.com. Maponga has a quick burst upfield, the lateral agility to evade slower-footed offensive linemen and the quick hands necessary to slap away their attempts to block him, as well as knock the ball free from unsuspecting quarterbacks.
Last week, TCU teammate Josh Boyce, a wide receiver, announced he would leave school to enter the NFL Draft.
