Manu Ginobili, Spurs blow out Pelicans, 112-93

The San Antonio Spurs had a strong shooting performance from the field in this one, going 44-81 (54.3%), in a blowout 112-93 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. San Antonio (13-1) has now won 11 in a row, dating back to a 102-94 victory over the Denver Nuggets on November 5th.

Manu Ginobili came off the bench and put up 16 points on 6-7 shooting, including 4-5 on 3-point attempts, in a solid outing. Other top performers for San Antonio were Tony Parker with 14 points and 7 assists, Boris Diaw with 13 points and 5 rebounds, and Tiago Splitter with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Ryan Anderson scored 17 points off the bench for New Orleans on 6-15 shooting, including 1-5 from behind the arc. Tyreke Evans added 12 points and 9 rebounds and Anthony Davis finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

As expected, the offense of San Antonio was able to find success (60.5% eFG%) against a defense for New Orleans that has had its struggles, ranking worst in the NBA at forcing missed shots (53.1% opponents' eFG%). After putting up an eFG% of 60.5%, the Spurs are undefeated (3-0) this season when reaching 60% in that metric. From a defensive perspective, New Orleans is winless (0-3) when an opponent shoots that well against them.

This defeat means an end to a 3-game winning streak for New Orleans, pushing their record to 6-7 for the year.
