St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said Friday that Lance Lynn will be the Cardinals' starting pitcher for Sunday's Game 4 of the World Series against Boston.
Matheny's decision was not surprising, although there had been some consideration of bringing Adam Wainwright back on short rest to pitch Game 4.
Instead, Wainwright will pitch Game 5, followed by Michael Wacha in Game 6.
Joe Kelly is scheduled to pitch Saturday's Game 3 for the Cardinals.
Lynn started Game 4 of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers, pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs in a 4-2 victory.
The best-of-seven series is tied 1-1.
