Luke Rockhold will get the next shot at the UFC middleweight title against champion Chris Weidman, UFC President Dana White announced on Wednesday.

White appeared on UFC Tonight and confirmed the matchup. A date for the bout is to be determined.

Weidman (13-0) is fresh off a victory over Vitor Belfort at last month's UFC 187 pay-per-view. The defending champ took all of 2:53 to do away with Belfort, earning the technical knockout in the first round.

Rockhold (14-2) made a big statement in his last fight, submitting former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida at UFC on FOX 15 this past April. The former Strikeforce middleweight champ is a winner of four in a row, finishing all four of his opponents within the distance.

White said that a date for the contest hasn't been finalized. A potential landing spot for the bout could be Las Vegas, as UFC 191 was announced to take place at the MGM Grand on Sept. 5.
