The LPGA announced Thursday that it will return to the North Texas region for the first time in more than two decades.
The North Texas LPGA Shootout is scheduled to be held April 25-28 at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving. The LPGA last made headlines in the state when LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame member Annika Sorenstam competed at the PGA Tour's Colonial Invitational in 2003.
This shootout will also give amateur area players a chance to qualify for spots. Tournament exemptions will be awarded to the winners of a high school and collegiate "shootout" played ahead of the event.
