Loyola-Maryland 63, Siena 51

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Senior forward Erik Etherly scored 25 points, leading Loyola-Maryland to a 63-51 victory over visiting Siena in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Friday night at Reitz Arena.

Senior guard Robert Olson and junior guard Dylon Cormier added 11 points apiece for the Greyhounds (17-8, 9-4 MAAC), who have won two in a row after suffering back-to-back losses.

Senior forward O.D. Anosike had 16 points and 16 rebounds for Siena (6-18, 4-9). Sophomore guard Rob Poole scored 12 points.

Loyola led by as many as nine in the opening half, but Siena narrowed the gap over the final eight minutes. The Saints trailed by one with less than a minute to play in the half, but Etherly made a jumper to give the Greyhounds a 30-27 lead at the break.

Siena surged ahead early in the second period and again midway through the half, but Loyola responded with a 9-0 run to take a 46-37 lead on a dunk by Etherly with 9:34 remaining. Poole made a 3-pointer to cut Loyola's lead to 48-42 with 8:08 to go, but the Greyhounds scored the next seven points to take a commanding 55-42 lead with just over five minutes remaining.
