LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- Tyler Lamb scored 29 points in helping Long Beach State come from behind and defeat Montana State University-Billings 82-75 on Saturday.
Lamb shot 9 of 17 from the field and made four 3-pointers while Mike Caffey and A.J. Spencer added 19 points each for Long Beach State, which improved from shooting just 28 percent in the first half to 42 percent at game end.
Long Beach State (3-9), coming off a one point upset of USC on Thursday (72-71) trailed MSU-Billings 38-32 at intermission and it took a Lamb 3-pointer at 15:34 of the second half to finally go up 49-47 over the stubborn Division II Yellowjackets (5-6). The 49ers opened up a 14-point lead with 10 minutes remaining and held on to win by seven points.
Austin Hudson scored 18, Marc Matthews had 17 and Jonathan Mesghan 13 points for the Yellowjackets
