Logan Forsythe: (Foot) Suffers Setback, DL Stint Likely

RotoWire.com Staff

Update: Forsythe suffered a setback with the plantar fasciitis in his right foot Tuesday and appears set to begin the season on the disabled list, MLB.com's Corey Brock reports. Manager Bud Black said, "The pain got worse the more he was on it. Looks like we are heading in that direction (disabled list)."

Recommendation: With third baseman Chase Headley (thumb) slated to miss the month of April, Forsythe was expected to slide into his role at the hot corner after he lost the battle at second to Jedd Gyorko. Now that Forsythe is likely DL-bound, Gyorko should slide over to man third, with Alexi Amarista set to man the keystone. Considering plantar fasciitis is an injury that lingers, Forsythe may deal with the concern for some time, meaning fantasy owners counting on his production should explore other options.
