Little Mix prove how ending a relationship can make you stronger with new single "Shout Out to My Ex," from the group's forthcoming album Glory Days. Fans immediately began assuming the song was aimed at Perrie Edwards' ex-fiancé Zayn soaMalik, especially given the mention of "four long years" in Perrie's opening lyrics -- the exact duration of their relationship.
The track starts off with Edwards singing, "This is a shout out to my ex/ Heard he in love with some other chick/ Yeah, yeah that hurt me, I'll admit/ Forget that boy, I'm over it."
Regardless of the song's inspiration, it's the ultimate girl-power anthem. "'Shout Out To My Ex' is a song that we're sure loads of people can relate to," Jade Thirwall told Glamour. "It's all about moving on after a relationship ends to bigger and better things, and leaving the past where it should be."
