The Detroit Lions have the highest payroll in the NFL this season, according to the league's Players Association.
The Lions spent $162 million, which is $38 million over the salary cap. However, payroll figures include money tied to players no longer with the team.
The NFC North was the highest-spending division in the league. After the Lions, the Green Bay Packers were second at $160 million.
The Oakland Raiders spent an NFL-low $93 million. However, the Carolina Panthers spent the least per win so far this season with a payroll of $99 million and 10 wins.
Despite a relatively low payroll of $108 million, the Texans (two wins) are the least-efficient team in terms of spending at $54 million per win. The Atlanta Falcons (four wins) are the closest to Houston at $34 million per win due to their $136 million payroll.
