CINCINNATI -- Practice was washed out by bad weather on Thursday for the Cincinnati Bengals, most of whom went bowling instead.
However, coach Marvin Lewis noted that the absence of offensive tackle Andre Smith, who missed all OTA workouts, should not be considered a strike, bowling or otherwise.
Lewis said Smith had "personal issues" and the coach fully expects him to join the team when mandatory minicamp begins Tuesday.
Smith signed a three-year extension worth $18 million with the Bengals on April 26. After playing in only 13 games the first two seasons, Smith has missed only two the past two years and last season played in every game for the first time.
During Smith's absence, fifth-round pick Tanner Hawkinson has been seeing time at right tackle.
