Jon Lester will be the starter for the Boston Red Sox on Opening Day.
The left-hander is penciled in to face C.C. Sabathia and the New York Yankees on April 1, the Providence Journal reported Wednesday.
Clay Buchholz and Ryan Dempster are projected to follow Lester to mound for Boston's second and third games in its season-opening series against the Yankees, according to the Journal. Felix Doubrout and John Lackey will round out the Red Sox rotation and pitch in the next series against Toronto.
Lester has posted a 0.90 ERA in 20 innings this spring after struggling to a 9-14 record with a 3.77 ERA last year.
