The NHL announced Monday that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski will not be further disciplined stemming from Saturday night's fight with Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty.
Several fights broke out in the third period of the Maple Leafs' 6-0 win. Grabovski was accused of biting Pacioretty's arm during their melee. Both were given 10-minute misconduct penalties. Grabovski was also issued a roughing minor.
After the league's Department of Player Safety interviewed the two players Monday, reviewed video of the incident and looked at medical reports, it could not determine conclusively that Grabovski bit Pacioretty. The league concluded that there was not sufficient evidence to impose additional sanctions.
Pacioretty told reporters he got a tetanus shot after the incident.
