Former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore will begin his rookie season with the San Francisco 49ers on the physically unable to perform list, according to profootballtalk.com.
Lattimore will not be allowed to play in the 49ers' first six games, and many believe the ex-Gamecock who suffered a gruesome knee injury last season, will sit out the entire season.
Entering his junior season, Lattimore was projected as one of the top players in his class. The 49ers drafted Lattimore in the fourth round after he suffered a knee injury, which diminished his stock in the eyes of many NFL scouts.
His sophomore season also was cut short because of a torn ACL in his other knee.
As a freshman, Lattimore rushed for nearly 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns. He added more than 400 yards receiving and two more TDs.
