Cycling-France's Lappartient elected UCI president

BERGEN, Norway, Sept 21 (Reuters) - France's David Lappartient has been elected as International Cycling Union (UCI) president by beating incumbent Brian Cookson of Britain on Thursday. Lappartient, the European Cycling Union (UEC) president, is the first Frenchman to take charge of the global body since Achille Joinard (1947-57).
