Belo Horizonte (Brazil) (AFP) - Midfielder Frank Lampard captains England for their final World Cup match against Costa Rica at Belo Horizonte's Estadio Mineirao on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old inherited the armband from Steven Gerrard, who starts the game on the bench, with both players potentially set to make their final appearances in international football.
Jorge Luis Pinto's team need to avoid defeat to secure top spot in the group, and with it a favourable draw in the last 16. England are playing for pride alone after being eliminated last week.
