Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard, who sat out three games due to an ailing right shoulder, returned to action Sunday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Howard sustained a torn shoulder labrum Jan. 4 against the Los Angeles Clippers, then played the following game against the Denver Nuggets before sitting out road games against the Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs and a home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Lakers entered Sunday with a six-game losing streak, playing a large portion of that stretch without Howard and forward Pau Gasol. Gasol sat out the Cleveland game, the fourth consecutive game he's missed due to a concussion.
Before the six-game skid, the Lakers had won six of seven.
Howard began the night averaging 17.3 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.
