Update: Quincey has signed a two-year, $7.55 million deal with the Red Wings, avoiding arbitration, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Recommendation: Quincey was acquired in February in a trade from Colorado via Tampa Bay. The Red Wings may have paid a slight premium for the extra season, but they also needed to start shoring up their blue line after losing Brad Stuart and someone by the name of Nicklas Lidstrom this offseason. While Quincey only registered three points in 18 games following the trade, he once put up 38 points with Los Angeles (and 29 with Colorado in another season) and there will certainly be more room for him to contribute offensively with Lidstrom gone. Quincey is likely a top-4 guy on this blue line, now.
