Kyle Lowry put up 31 points to lead the Toronto Raptors to a close victory over the Brooklyn Nets, 104-103. Toronto (23-21) picked up the win after falling to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
Lowry shot 10-18 (4-7 from three-point range) and 7-8 from the free throw line, in what was an efficient performance. He also tallied 5 steals and 5 rebounds. Other key performers for Toronto were Jonas Valanciunas with 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Terrence Ross with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Paul Pierce had a strong performance for Brooklyn despite the loss, scoring 33 points on 10-16 shooting (7-10 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-7 from the free throw line. Andray Blatche contributed 20 points and 6 rebounds.
This defeat means an end to a five-game winning streak for Brooklyn, pushing their record to 20-23 for the year.
Coming up, the Raptors square off against the Orlando Magic, who are 12-33 on the season. The Nets go up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, currently sitting at 35-10 this year. The Nets are 1-0 versus Oklahoma City this season.
