Update: Pete Rondeau has been elevated to the competition director position for the NASCAR Sprint Cup team. In his new position as competition director, Rondeau will be the point person at the Denver race shop with the building and preparation of the team's No. 78 Chevys, which will be driven by Busch, furniturerowracing.com reports.
Recommendation: Rondeau has been with FRR since 2010 and has served both the car chief and crew chief role with the team. He will get the promotion to director of competition and be responsible for all the fabrication and prep of the No. 78 team's cars. Busch's team is basically a "satellite" Richard Childress Racing team due to a technical alliance that is in place between both organizations.
