New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire sustained a cut on his left hand that required medical attention after the Knicks' loss to Miami Monday night.
Shortly after the game, Stoudemire lacerated his hand by hitting it against a fire-extinguisher case in frustration on his way back to the locker room.
"I just know that he has a laceration and he's probably going to be out. I don't know how bad it is," teammate Tyson Chandler said. "It's tough, obviously. Amare is a huge piece of this team and without him, it's going to make it more difficult. That's two players out of the starting lineup."
The Knicks entered the series with point guard Jeremy Lin sidelined from late-season knee surgery.
Stoudemire had 18 points and seven rebounds in the game.
