Kevin Durant put up 42 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a close victory over the Detroit Pistons, 112-111. Oklahoma City (59-23) gets one in the win column after losing to New Orleans on Monday.
Durant shot 14-30 (1-5 from three-point range) and 13-15 from the free throw line. Other top contributors for Oklahoma City included Russell Westbrook with 22 points and eight assists, and Serge Ibaka with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a rare strong performance for Detroit in the loss, scoring 30 points on 11-19 shooting (5-7 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 3-5 from the free throw line. Andre Drummond chipped in 22 points and 13 rebounds and Greg Monroe finished with 22 points and nine assists.
Detroit (29-53) has now dropped their last four straight games.
