San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week and Oakland kicker Sebastian Janikowski was selected as the AFC special-taems player of the week by the NFL on Wednesday.
In his fifth career start, Kaepernick led the 49ers to a win on Sunday night at New England, throwing four touchdown passes.
Janikowski received the award for the fifth time in his 13-year career after making 5 of 6 field-goal attempts on Sunday in the Raiders' 15-0 victory over Kansas City. He nailed a 57-yarder at the end of the first half and also connected from 50 yards. Janikowski barely missed a 51-yard try.
