Update: Smith agreed to a four-year, $56 million contract with the Pistons on Saturday, Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Recommendation: Smith figures to start at small forward in Detroit, as the Pistons already have two promising young big men in Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe. While there may be questions about how good of a fit this is, there's no doubting that the Pistons will boast one of the longest and most athletic starting lineups in the league. Smith averaged 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals in his final season in Atlanta, and it's fair to expect similar numbers in Detroit. Smith's shot selection has long been a point of contention, but even if it remains an issue he should be a valuable piece in helping the Pistons get back to the playoffs. Lineups featuring both Smith and Drummond could be a nightmare for players who are susceptible to having their shots blocked.
