Josh Koscheck vs. Tyron Woodley Added to UFC 167 20th Anniversary Fight Card

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Thursday announced a welterweight match-up between Josh Koscheck and Tyron Woodley for the UFC 167: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks fight card. The event is slated for Nov. 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Koscheck (17-7) heads into this fight in a position he’s never been before, coming off of back-to-back losses.

One of the original The Ultimate Fighter cast members, Koscheck’s Octagon debut dates back to 2005. Now, eight years and 22 fights later, he’s fighting to remain relevant in the UFC welterweight division's title picture.

After a split decision loss to Johny Hendricks and following that up with a TKO loss to Robbie Lawler, Koscheck needs a victory more than ever.

Woodley (11-2), although far less known that Koscheck, is no easy opponent to face when trying to right the ship.

Though Woodley has gone 1-2 in his last three fights, he rocketed to an undefeated 10-0 to start his career. He holds victories over the likes of former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine, Paul Daley, Jordan Mein, and Jay Hieron.

Koscheck vs. Woodley will be part of the supporting cast for the headlining bout between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and No. 1 contender Johny Hendricks.
