John Wall finished with 18 points and added 12 assists, his 15th double-double of the season, to lead the Washington Wizards to a close victory over the Phoenix Suns, 101-95. The Wizards shot 39-86 (45.3%) from the field and dominated the offensive glass, pulling down 19 boards. Washington (21-21) gets one in the win column after losing to Boston on Wednesday.
Wall went 6-12 from the field (2-3 on 3-pointers) and 4-5 from the free throw line. Other top contributors for Washington included Trevor Ariza with 23 points and 7 rebounds, Nene Hilario with 18 points and 8 rebounds, and Bradley Beal with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Goran Dragic scored 19 points for Phoenix on 8-19 shooting, including 1-5 from behind the arc. He also registered 11 assists. Miles Plumlee added 14 points and 6 rebounds.
The Suns had 19 assists against 21 turnovers for a ratio of .90. This year, they are 2-6 when having more turnovers than assists in a game. Conversely, the Wizards are 3-2 when holding their opponents below an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.00.
