New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes was carted off the field with an apparent left knee injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Holmes went down awkwardly after catching a four-yard pass from quarterback Mark Sanchez. Holmes flipped the ball in the air without being touched and grabbed his knee. San Francisco cornerback Carlos Rogers took the ball back 51 yards for a fumble return for a touchdown to put the 49ers up 24-0 following the extra point.
The injury to Holmes was reminscent of the non-contact torn ACL suffered by Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis in Week 3.
