Jerry Jones offers more support for Jason Garrett

Even though the Cowboys finished 8-8 and won't go to the playoffs, owner Jerry Jones does not intend on firing head coach Jason Garrett.

"I stand by what I said a month ago," Jones said, via ESPN Dallas.

The Cowboys narrowly missed out on an NFC East title and playoff berth Sunday night. Dallas fell 24-22 to Philadelphia in a thriller that sent the Eagles to the postseason in Chip Kelly's first year at the helm.

As Dallas' head coach, Garrett has yet to reach the playoffs. He's led the Cowboys to three consecutive 8-8 seasons.
