Update: Werth will test his surgically-repaired left wrist in the near future, as manager Davey Johnson intends to trot out his starters everyday for the first time this spring, the Washington Times reports. "I'm feeling pretty good," Werth said. "I think it's coming along."
Recommendation: Following the fracture last May, Werth was told that the wrist could take as long as 18 months to recover fully, a period which extends through the 2013 season. As long as the wrist doesn't display full strength and range of motion, he is unlikely to hold the power that he's exhibited in past campaigns. It remains to be seen how Werth will react to the more frequent reps.
